Welcome to the Bathurst St Phase I reconstruction Page
Phase I saw the rebuilding of the intersection at Queen St in 2007. Tracks, switches and the northbound platform were replace. The work took a lot longer than plan causing the Queen St to be closed 100% to both traffic as well TTC route 501 streetcars.
Work started on ?. I shot various Photo's at various time depending on my schedule for this location and are posted below and on following pages. Click the Photo's to get a full size view of it as it was shot at 8mg in a 3264 x 2448 size.
A number of times, crews came close to tearing down the overhead systems.
On Friday, I caught crews preparing to open Queen St to traffic and it caught TTC off guard as they were not prepared for it to open that day until the Sunday. TTC had to get crews out to check the work as well run some 501 test cars though the intersection before allow regular service to resume for the route.
Bathurst St was not ready to open until a few days later as the northbound platform was not built.
