The first phase of the Bloor Danforth Line open on February 26, 1966 between Keele St station in the West to Woodbine Ave station in the East as the first Phase of 4 phases.
On May 11, 1968 the subway line was again extended to Warden Ave station in the east and to Islington Ave station in the west.
On November 22, 1980 the subway was again extended to Kennedy Road station in the east and to Kipling Ave station in the west.
The 4th phase to Dixie Road in Mississauga serving Sherway Garden Mall and Cloverdale Mall along the way is still on the books, but there is no plan to build it at this time.
